The Calligraphy & Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) founded in 1994, is based in the United Kingdom with a world-wide membership that includes not only calligraphers, but lettering artists working with a variety of materials. CLAS exists to promote the study, practice and teaching of western calligraphy in all its forms, and to generate awareness and appreciation among the wider public. It is a properly constituted, non-profit organisation. Brian G. Walker was one of the 12 Founder Members of CLAS and the first Regional Officer.
The Brian Walker Prize is presented at the CLAS Annual General Meeting to a member who has participated in the Art & the Letter Exhibition, regardless of skill, ability and experience level. The prize began in 2020 and will be awarded annually until 2029.

The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to practising and preserving the beautiful arts of calligraphy, engrossing and fine penmanship. The Walker Grant honors the memory of IAMPETH Master Penman Brian Walker, who passed away in July 2018. Brian was considered to be one of the world’s finest Spencerian penmen.
The Walker Grant will be offered for a period of ten (10) years, beginning in 2020 and ending in 2029, and will be awarded to a different recipient in each of the ten years. Preference will be given to those with particular skill and/or interest in Spencerian script.

The Society for Italic Handwriting (SIH) is a registered charity (number 287889R) and its aim is to spread and promote the practice of the Italic script. The SIH was founded in 1952 by Alfred Fairbank. Brian G. Walker was a longstanding member and supporter of the SIH.
The Brian Walker Italic Handwriting Award is an annual award, which will be presented to the SIH member who has made the most progress in their Italic handwriting over a period of time. It will commence in 2021 at their discretion.
